User types in Friday Pulse

In Friday Pulse, everyone can access their own happiness data. Beyond this, what you see depends on your user type. Here's a quick guide:

User type icons

Participant

Analyst

  • Represented by a green bar graph badge on the People page.
  • Analyst users can see all data for the whole organization, including for every team, location and other group, provided there are three or more responses.

Senior leader

  • Identified by a yellow corner jigsaw piece.
  • In addition to the reporting Analyst users can see, Senior leader users are also be provided with bespoke Insights and Happiness Trends reports, to help them spot and act on trends.
  • Senior leader users are sent a small number of additional emails about Culture Profiles and to encourage participation.

Admin

  • Marked by a green crown badge.
  • Admin users have the same data visibility and emails as Senior leaders.
  • Admin users can update your user list; adding, editing and removing users, teams and groups.
  • Admins can reset a user’s responses and resend individual invites to participate, provided questions are still open.
  • Admins can also make account setting changes.

Account Owner

  • A special type of Admin, with a yellow crown badge on the People page.
  • Each account can only have one Account Owner.
  • The Account Owner is automatically assigned to the user who sets up the account.
  • The current Account Owner can make another Admin user the Account Owner instead of themselves.
  • The Account Owner is the only user that can cancel your Friday Pulse account.
  • The Account Owner is also the main point of contact for Friday Pulse and the default billing contact.

Additional types

The "Access to" and "Manager of" features aren't user types, but it is worth noting them here as an alternative way to give particular Participant users additional functionality in Friday Pulse. Learn more about giving a user Access to or Manager of a team or group results

  • Access to: Grants Participants access to data from teams (and their child teams) that they aren’t a part of, or access the data for other groups.
  • Manager of: allows the same visibility as Access to, while also marking those who manage specific teams or groups. More features for team managers are on the way!
