Rolling out Friday Pulse to new teams

If you are adding new teams of users to Friday Pulse, you might want to consider using our rollout feature to introduce them to the platform and get baseline Culture Profile scores for the team.

When you add a new user to Friday Pulse, they automatically start where everyone else is – so when your questions next open your new user will get the same weekly questions that your existing users get. However, if you are introducing a whole new team/s to the platform, you can use our rollout feature to introduce them to the platform and get baseline Culture Profile results for each team.

Here are the steps to follow – and the things to keep in mind – for a successful rollout:

1. Get the feature turned on

Contact Friday Pulse to ask for the rollout feature to be turned on for your Friday Pulse account.

Things to keep in mind:

  • When the rollout feature is turned on, all the new users you add to your account will get the onboarding question flow when your questions next open.

2. Do your internal comms

Just like when you launched, good comms ahead of your rollout are crucial for a good start. You can use our Communications Guide to help plan your comms and make sure you have relevant messages for your different audiences.

As you have teams already using Friday Pulse, make use of their experiences – how have they been successfully using the platform? What have they learnt or changed? Share these experiences with new users and new managers using the platform.

You can change your comms depending on the audience too – what can managers share to reassure the managers of the new teams coming onto the platform if they’re feeling a little bit anxious about talking to their team about happiness at work?

Things to keep in mind:

  • The best time to do a rollout to new users is when your Culture Profile measure is due – that way everyone is answering the 15 core Culture Profile questions at the same time, along with the two onboarding questions around anonymity and using Friday Pulse (your new users).
  • Also keep in mind that if your new teams already have a few existing users on Friday Pulse, the trend lines will show for that team from before the rollout
  • If you choose to rollout on a different date to your Culture Profile, then the Culture Profile scores given by your new users will be back-dated to the date of your last Culture Profile measure and not the date of rollout. This ensures you have a baseline for that previous date that you can compare with future Culture Profiles.

3. Update your user list

Update your Friday Pulse user list in the week of your rollout. We recommend exporting your existing, adding your new users, and importing the updated list.

Things to keep in mind:

  • You should update your user list before questions open on the week of your rollout – make sure you take any other time zones you use into account!
  • We recommend you update your user list on the Wednesday before you rollout to be sure your questions are closed
  • User list updates must be done at least one hour before your questions are due to open
  • This is a great time to check your existing users are correct and have all the relevant fields completed too!
  • Consider including Tag groups for your new users so you can easily see response rates and scores just for this group.
